Am thinking of cutting off the inner wings at the bulk head and welding in replacement panels,is this stong enough ? was thinking of cutting of custards complete front end and welding onto the new shell as is in fab condition any thoughts on problems that can occur

No flip fronts as is going back to my Dad, wouldnt know what to do with it ;D

ahh shame, as you would of got away without majority of inner wing, and welding the wings on, bolt it on?

Getting the wings and front panel off complete is possible but not the easiest of jobs as you have to try drill out the spot wells on the scuttle. However the a panels can't be removed complete as you have to grind through the folded lip to get it off.
I love a challenge and saving money but I think in this case a new front is the better option.

Wasnt gonna remove the whole inner wing only just before the bulkhead, where you cut for a flip front and needs new A;s anyway , so thats the plan as would need repairs to the front inner wing anyway

custard i would cut it off pal where u said and i would use a joggler to join the 2 panels together and weld away

u can still seam weld it . the tool is used to bend the panel so u get a good join then when u weld it and clean it up u cant see the welding best way i think i have a air one here if u need to use one

The one thing to consider is with a joggled joint is for the NOT both sides have to be welded. I used one on the floor pans of my van and they drastically lower the chance of blowing through as there's metal behind to take some of the heat
