Pretty much the weather/time of the year thats slowing down all the forums lately. People are working extra on the run up to xmas, getting ready for xmas (so no money for their minis) and its too Icy to go for a random run/tinker with the mini to brag about on the forums.. I agree its only the regulars that are going to shows but then if your forcing/nagging people to go to shows its a chore, meaning they definitely wont go along. (one modified car club im a member of at the moment is struggling because of this at the moment) Also its worth remembering some shows arn't liked by everyone.. For example, I can't stand and have literally no interest in Malvern any more lol. Some other people love it! they go, I don't.. ;D lol. Agree with AZ, advertising is where to make the mark... not random stickering, nothing looks worse than that in my opinion. But getting stickers for your cars, I'll knock up a quick print out that people can print out, cut in half to put on peoples cars if they spot a Mini on their travels, anything like that really... Should really get on top of the website situation so cars of the month can have their time in the spotlight again (not to mention keep bumping us up google).. But am still waiting on that side of things as yet.. Once the weather is more sensible and peoples cars are back from their open heart surgery (swapping both my subbies in Spring, JB is out with a shagged Gearbox, and so on and so forth) I think we need some runs ;D or a rolling road day, or all the above! It may still only be the regulars, but get out there enough and we will get more members. (its unlikely to get more active members at shows because most people go to shows with their favourite club anyway ) If the regulars can go out every so often (not to shows, but just because they want to do some Mini-ing) and have fun then in my book its a good club and what will get more people out in their minis than road trips to various places along proper Mini style roads!! ;D

nah mate was phil that organised it and im pretty sure that he was aloud to use the name and things plus it was organised for ages We had a team that organised the show but Phil did do the most, as for the pics he doesn't have the right to use them but he does own the south Wales mini show name. The show did cause a few arguments and resulted in people leaving. But that's all in the past and we need to move on and get the club back to how it was.

About a year ago when phil decided that car of the month was getting a bit straned for entries, I suggested that members could do an in depth writeup on their car projects....but more condenced and in depth than just the members car thread. Members could add interesting bits and pics and have a feature car...prob havent explained it too well but along those lines....
also maybe a resurection of the newsletter in the new year, as that kept people involved in what was going on in the club, and made those that didnt log in as much aware of runs and shows...It used to be sent out as a block email by phil...

I read he forum often, but don't contribute much. Just enjoy reading it. As for getting more people back - i'd love to see the club organise a track day, that would be so much fun and some road journeys maybe.

If any one wants to organise an event just post up your idea and see how much interest there is

I like the idea of a rolling road day. And when the weather breaks we should definatley go on mini drives. It would be nice to finally put faces to the names.

Also the problem with Weekends away (except for shows) most people who do work on weekends struggle to get time off for the shows, so for a club weekend away I doubt there would be much of a turn out. Then again we don't know until we try! If you or someone wants to put some feelers out there then feel free! ;D (Also some people arn't fussed on camping.. lol.. )I'd love to see the club organise a track day, that would be so much fun and some road journeys maybe. Thanks for the input! ;D The trackdays are pretty much killed off im afraid , another club I am in got a quote from Pembrey for just over £1500 a while back for the full day. It's not a bad price all things considered! But doubt there would be enough people willing to take their cars around to make it viable But Im sure there will be a fair few runs organised ;D
