Fuel prices have reached an all time high and still the government sting the drivers with over the top fuel duty and a rise in VAT. The "motorist" is seen as an easy target down to overwhelming numbers but this is just kicking the "Average Joe" in the nuts when he's already down surely! Isn't it about time the "Classic Car" free tax was rolled forwards annually so that any car over a given age (say 30 yrs) should be included in this one and only "perk" for Classic Car owners I feel really sorry for the guy who owns a 1973 Classic with a V8 or 5Ltr engine who is an alcoholic and chain smokes !!! He's paying more in Tax than am MP's wages (or expenses!!!) Thats my rant to start the new year over with !!! ;D

The motorist is paying the price for greedy city types who speculate how much crude oil will cost in the future, and they in turn make huge bonus's. The cynic in me reckons all the oil giants have got together to raise the cost of fuel to pay for the damage / clean up that an American contractor working for BP who caused that explosion on BPs rig. Joe public will foot the bill for that catastrophe. The previous Government stopped the "rolling system" for Classic cars when they were in power. The cut-off point is now dec 72 as opposed to the 25 year rule that was already in place.. All of us, especially those with a job, family, house etc are going to find the going extremely tough for the next couple of years and all because of those GREEDY bankers and an EX goverment who, instead of trying to fix something properly, decided that throwing money they didn't have at it was an easier option. Gawd help us. Happy new year folks.

I can't afford to drive anymore, partly because of ridiculous fuel prices, along with extortionate insurance prices for being young

what every one needs to do is not go to any petrol station for 1 day to fill up and that does not mean go and fill up the day before because
1. they would have had your money then so it would be no point in boycoting for one day
so if every one refused to fill up on the 1 day the goverment and the fuel companies would more than likley lose millions , the money grabbing b.........ds

Yep, costing me £20 a week and I'm driving minimally... Driving is almost unaffordable for the average person, let alone those who are struggling.
OPEC control oil prices, the government smack a load of tax to pay for their murder in Iraq and Afghanistan (£7bn per year) and we're the ones paying for all this messed up stuff in our world...
