( coopdog i accentually edited your post instead of quoting it its back as it was now tho ) Been thinking too hard about 16v's lad! Well last night my mother went to get milk at half 11, she 'cruised' up the A470 doing 40mph, what a pee take!

i like doing about 60 - cos my car doesnt shudder and shake at that speed
but then i get bored....
so it creeps up to 75pmh, and i usually stick to that

ive done 90-95 in it... lol. dan was driving behind me and when we stopped he got out and shouted something to the effect of "are you crazy/what are u doing" ... and thats the day i realised my speedo wasnt working well... lol. i was unaware of my speed so i wasnt too scared. now i get to 80ish and start to wonder about the consequences of a crash, so i slow down

is it a city or a city E?
the city e had a longer final drive which made cruising a bit better but you took longer to get up to speed.
my fast road 998 does 80 in 3rd which is about 6k rpm then i shift up

65mph here. Of course it will scream, its only got four gears lol... I could happily sit at 70mph if I wanted to. but its just too loud for me sitting at that speed for too long, 65 keeps me away from the lorries while still not being too loud. Mind you I plan on changing to a taller final drive at some point to try and make it a bit happier. but that wont be unless I change the cam/engine...

when i had my cooper it was amazing for cruising, they got a very tall drive 2.7:1, it would sit all day at 70mph which was about 3k rpm but that was a 1275 so had the torque behind it. a 998 will struggle with such a tall FD
