In west Philadelphia born and raised
(I'm black and poor)
In a playground is where I spent most of my days
(I don't have a job)
Chilling out maxing and relaxing all cool
(smoking weed)
Shooting some meatball outside of the school
(playing basketball instead of working)
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
(more black people)
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
(they were being black)
I got in one little fight
(guns and knives were used)
And my mum got scared
(she was paranoid from the drugs)
And said you're moving with your aunty and uncle in bell-air
(and I never saw any of the child benefits)
I whistled for a cab and when it got near
(the first five saw a black man and rightly drove on)
The license plate said fresh and it had a dice in the mirror
(it was a wigger)
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
(it wasn't driven by a Paki)
But I thought nah forget it yo home to Bel-air!
(I got stoned and lost interest)
I pulled up to a house about 7 or 8
(too stoned to remember where I was or what time it was)
And I yelled to the cabby yo homes smell ya later
(I ran away from the driver without paying)
I looked at my kingdom I was finally there yo sit in my throne as the prince of Bel-air.
(I sponged off of people that worked for a living for years and years there-after).
