How were the A's welded on in the factory ? Want to remove front with then attached ?

their folded over the door post and spot welded in a few places along the fold, also spot welded to the sill and there should be some weld at the top
edit its impossible to get them off intact

Weeeeel gonna be cutting the door posts out with the panels , so is that doable

id imagine if you could get in there to cut the lip off then it could be done, but its is a structural part of the car, the door hinges bolt trough it

Ok so a new idea, the a post on the new shell is shot.. so thought is. brace the door frame top; to bottom and left to right, cut out the whole a from under the scuttle and weld in the complete cut out one from custard which is in superb condition with the hinge panel.. what could go wrong ?   |
