Custard as in the first custard? Or custard as in the rebuilding custard? The first custard I dont think will see the road in a safe and straight condition unless you can get it on a jig machine... If you got him straightened up on a jig it wouldn't be toooo bad I guess? But without getting it straightened you could be welding all the new arse end on squiff because of the damage and as a result crab everywhere, chew tyres and have a weaker bodyshell...

I suppose at what point does it no longer become custard? If it looks the same then its Custard? Even if you use the original Custard shell, your changing metal, does it still make it Custard? I'd say the personality comes from the mechanical parts, you can make the shell look the same..

Its not the actual metal (or rusty!) bits that make the Mini "Custard" Its more the spirit of what used to be "Custard" being what makes you think that way about the Mini. Even if you were to change everything but still think of the car as being"Custard" then the link would still be there for you to enjoy in the future. Go for it......but remember it will still be "Custard" when you are finished! Mystic Meg's got nothing on me !!!!!! ;D ;D

Can any of you remember an episode of Only Fools And Horses where the topic was "Triggers Broom" ? Trig was very proud of his broom, he'd had it for 20 years!!!! He'd only changed the handle 14 times and the broom head 17 times !!!!!..... but it was still his broom !!!!!!! Same applies to Custard I would say! ;D

i bought them for the van from somerfords, weren't cheap but do make things a lot easier.
all my panels come from somerfords, i really cant fault them a few times ive had them next day delivery for the price of standard. most of the non-genuine panels are m-machine panels but cheaper (well last time i looked )
