Hi there, I'm new to the club and my mini is my first ever car! Baisically everything on the outside of my car is chrome except for the paintwork, wipers and alloys. I'm really tired of having to polish the chrome and its just so high maintainence. My mini lives outdoors so it is exposed to the elements which has pitted the chrome and i just thought if i replace everything with stainless steel then I'll still have nice shiny metal bits, withought them going manky and having to polish them every weekend I have already bought a stainless steel number plate light cover, as that was the worst effected, and i also have my eye on some stainless bumpers here: www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_14A6779MS.htmlonly thing is, I cant seem to find any stainless door handles like these www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_9-01098.htmlOr those front indicator lamp covers (lack of technical term) Can anybody point me in the right direction please? Hi Benjamin. Chrome will always pit and rust, sadly. As far as I know they do not make stainless door handles. The only option is to find New Old Stock handles or very good second hand ones. Wiper arms are available in stainless as are the blades. The indicator surrounds I'm not sure about. Will have to have a looksee. The problem with modern chrome is it is very poorly made and will only last a couple of winters before the rust rears its ugly head.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. If I were to replace the badly affected parts with new chrome, is there a certain place you trust to supply good quality chrome? Or any tips whatsoever on keeping chrome in good shape? Also I hear you can get chrome re-plated. Is that a good option?
Thanks for your input
