my car smells alot at hight revs, its not the speed its the revs, its doesn't smell when im normal driving, but if i need to boot it for what ever reason it smells petroly, so i dont think the fuel is burning at higher revs properly, any ideas?

Could just be the needle is the wrong one so as you say, it pumps in a tonne of fuel at high revs.
Or could be rubbish in the carb keeping things open?

Not boot it and drive responsible ha!
I'd say a rolling road is in order, cos you didnt do it after you fitted your stage 1? By smelly I thought you meant a bad smell, not petrol. I know a lot of older cars smell really bad when their booted

Rolling Road is the only way really...
They will get the right needle for you, and modify it to suit your engine. Then again if its just rubbish in the carb then try rebuilding the carb...then again will probably need to be rolling road'ed after rebuilding the carb anyway...

What needle is in the Carb, did you replace the needle from the stage 1 Kit ?

Look closely at all your fuel lines and clips. I've had that in the past and it was down to perished fuel lines that started lealing fuel as soon as the mechanical pump was working hard under high revs. The bad thing about Mini's is that the fuel line into the carb is just above the red hot exhaust manifold !!!!!!! Mine was dropping petrol onto the manifold and you could hear it "hiss" as it was evaporated and that was the smell !!!!!

I'll put my money on a split oil breather pipe.
