being a complete novice in the world of clutches....i need help on byrons cabrio, which has been stood patiently for about 6 months since last being driven, the clutch seems to have seized on.....its not the master or slave cylinders, they have been checked and working fine so is there a way (pref an easy way...!!!!) to get the clutch sorted? ?? thanks all ju

Can you/he depress the clutch pedal Ju If not try spraying the clutch operating rod where it goes into the engine clutch housing with good old WD !!!!!!! Then keep pressing the clutch peddle on/off and spraying the housing and it should eventually free up !!! Thats what mine did anyway !!! jd

Mine had stood for over 3 years before the clutch pedal stuck like that. The WD isnt an instant answer tho. Tell him to get Percy to give him a hand !!!!!!! Percy Verance that is !!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D and step away from the hammer !!!!!!!

Jack the engine up, undo engine mount and take the clutch housing off, least then you can work on the plunges etc on the bench such makes things easier. Also have you ensured its not just the pedal and rod rusted solid?

Sounds like the clutch plate has stuck itself to the backplate and the flywheel. Whip the starter motor off and you should be able to see the backplate and flywheel, hopefully. While someone is pressing the clutch pedal tap the flywheel with a dirty great big size 10 sledgehammer and a length of old railway line. OK, maybe something a bit smaller, but you get my drift.
