when I was painting my bulkhead/inner wings I degreased it (not needed on outer panels obviously lol), harsh sandpaper/wire wool, then fine sandpaper until there is no more specks of rust left, then Kurust on top (Dai knows better stuff though), and then etchprimer once the kurust had totally gone off. Then paint ;D

To treat surface rust you will need to use Hydrate 80. It comes in a 1L tub though. I painted the whole floor inside and out with it just to make sure the dreaded tinworm stays away. The dynax is for cavity treatment, same sort of gear as Waxoil but far better. Bilt hambers gear is ALL good stuff and is highly recommended.

Ahh, I see where you're coming from now. I use the Deox gel to get rid of the surface rust first. In some cases there may be some pitting in the rusted area and on the rare occasion the gel doesn't get the rust out I coat that area with the Hydrate 80 to make doubly sure the rust doesn't get a chance to start again. All of their products come with very full instructions.

The H 80 is Polymer based and self etching and is "inert" to most common paint finishes.
