When I turn it over I get like a popping sound? Any ideas?

sounds like it may be backfiring slightly...my Scimitar used to do the same, try advancing/retarding the timing a little and see what happens

Not that complicated Just need the carb breather pipe connected up ;D

yes, yes, although you did try getting me to bodge it Need to sort that choke cable though, dont think the miserable old guy next door appreciates me revving at this time of night

Possibly, but holding the throttle linkage "on" slightly should do for now, i've heard mini choke cables can be a bugger to do, then again at least your manual choke was standard fit! The dgas on my classic had been converted, which causes a headache as the carb itself has been modified too, mainly to accomodate the change from water operated carb to cable operated....
