can anyone reccomend anywhere around south wales that fit car alarms or know of a mobile service that comes out to fit it for you??
i've heard sextons in uplands are good but really expensive.

i know these chaps, did the alternator conversion for me on the mini. quality work, expensive though

Sextons is where I'll be headed for mine, expensive for a reason, you can take it back of you have problems and they will sort it, they hide wires best they can and they are insurance approved (meaning discount insurance if it's a cat1 or 2.)

It also depends what you are trying to prevent. I had a mk1 escort that was stupidly easy to break into. I ended up just making sure there was nothing worth stealing in the car, left the doors unlocked so people wouldn't damage them breaking in, and loosened one of the spark plug leads so she couldnt be started. Often I would come out in the morning to find her with her doors open and the ignition wires pulled out, but I never had anything stolen and the car itself was never taken.
Not sure I would recommend it as a strategy for everyone of course ;D

Nopes not yet, cant afford it for now. I know a few places in bristol quote between £300-£350 fitted for a ToadAi606 (cat one, with insurance certificate) so if he wants more than that Ill be using that to try and knock him back...

shouldn't be that much, heard it'll be about 250, theres a updated version of the Ai606 out know, and its the same price. there about £90
