As most of you know I've been restoring a 67 Woody. One of the annoying aspects of the resto has been bare metal beginning to rust before i can get any paint on. I,'ve started using JENOSEAL rust convertor, stabilizer and undercoat. I'm very sceptical about these so called all in one rust cures. I know the simplest way to eradicate the rust is to chop it out and replace with new steel but, in some areas it is nigh on impossible to cut out and replace. I've used POR 15 before which is recognised as one of the best on the market but it's a real pain to use. What do you fellow Mini restorers use. ?

Aye Gar. I use the weld thru Zinc Primer on all the seams before spotting or plugging, but that is only any good if you can get primer on soon afterwards.

well its on its 4th at the moment most people have put 6 coats on but thats because you have to thin it to roller it on. that pic shows it after its second coat
you can use it un thined with a brush it just takes abit longer to dry and doesnt give a as smooth finish.

That latter method would be fine for the undercarriage.

Haven't used it yet, but I've just been on the Frost website ordering some other stuff. There's so many choices on the site for what you require, it may leave you bewildered, like me. Dinitrol do a rust converter and paint in one application type stuff. The website is www.frost.co.uk.
