My mini has just come out of a garage after clutch problems and now is undrivable it was driving good with a slight misfire before but when warm it was fine it now misfires backfires at any accelatation ? the carb has been changed for what i am told is an xr2 carb i have changed the plugs twice now had a service with new leads i have an electronic distibuter ? any ideas what this might be as the garage told me the timings wright ? could it be overfueling and would changing the fuel regalator solve it by any chance ? cheers

As we said on the other post you really need to get it set up on a rolling road, that will iron out all of your problems.

As mentioned before, we really need to have a pic to see what your set up is regarding the carb. I can't say that I've ever heard of an XR2 carb being used on a Mini before. It definitely sounds like fueling problems though.

I believe an xr2 carb is a webber downdraft. Same setup as bumblebee had in his.
