How about updating the website itself.
it would be nice to have some modern design with more up to date features to bring in the hordes of us young mini owners, making it more social by being able to update your status , make a wish list , create a better profile , customize the way you see the forum to make it more aesthetically pleasing by having different skins etc
Also as Callum said advertising the forum would also bring in more members with more things to talk about , the only problem with advertising in this case is how do you target it to mini owners. I'm sure stuff like advertising on larger forums such as TMF has already been done.
How about business cards with the club website and a caption that we can all have a few of that we can give to people we see with minis , stick under minis we see wiper blade so the owner will get the card etc
Another harder to imagine way to get more activity on the forum would be to make it a car club instead of just a mini club ?? im sure alot of the members on here are interested in all other types of cars, and own other types of cars . So why not let them join and share their adventures . ??

well there are loads of way about this yes an update to the site could be a good option and doesnt cost an arm and a leg can be done prity easly. as for members i think we need to hit the non members that we spot out and about like down here in pembrokeshire there are sevral minis i have seen one was actualy parked out side my flat today was a hornet but nearly a mini in one way. all these people may know about it or may not the ones that know about it and dont join probably think its not buisy enough and dont like it or that meets down come close enough for people to travel as seems mose on here are near swansea which is an hours drive for me on the motor way. and as for the ones that i have seen but dont know about it we need stickers or flyers like some one els said as other wise how els are they going ot know about the club/forum . there did use to be a pembrokeshire mini club but i have struggled to fine who runs it these days as they can be bothered to reply to me that is also another reason. and another thing that could liven things up on the forum could be a photo compatition ride of the month or something or photoshop compatitions and so on give us something to look at come summer ROTM (ride of the month) could be very goo as should be nicer weather and people will be out and about also more meets. and may be an update post on TMF to let people have a refresh on that were still here as there is a guy selling a 1380 engine on there and he said he is near brigend but havent seen the engine on here for sale.

This time of year is always bad for clubs of any sort, just been through xmas, lack of money for people,s projects, and speaking for myself im from swansea, live in bristol,work in london (12hr shifts) and i dont seem too get a lot of time too sit down and post i will go on and have a check through check pm,s etc. Also trying too do a engine conversion on my mk1 but only get 1 day a week too work on the mini, so the web site tends too take a back seat. Thing will pick up as the shows season starts too pick up and people start getting there project near completion. I will be hopefully having my one day on the mini tomo so i will be able too update some pics and give you guys some idea of what i have decided too do with my mk1 traveller  . What about bringing back name the part game i used too realy enjoy that. Have you tried emailing or ringing the not so active memebers too see if they are still in the club?. Could you advertise in the likes of mini mag/world Also when we brought out the very first swm in the years before internet we had an advert in the eveing post with a phone number you could do the same sort of thing and put the web address on there as there may be some people who have mini,s and are not aware of any clubs, etc. Also what i,ve done in the past was combine the mini club with the bike club for charity events etc that would be free advertising for the club whilst helping a good cause. i just created a new skin called swm blue which is close to the tmf colours and there is also the proboards skin (which is the one i use)
skins can be selected in your profile modify profile> skins
if people want to send me an idea of a colours for a skin then i'll make it

you lot obv havent been on m4 minis there forum is DEAD and i mean dead hardly anyone commenting i log on there now and then but thats nothing new its always quiet. shame really  |

I think that's what helps welsh ford alot people see welsh ford adding photos and commenting on members stuff.. And give them an add raising the profile of the club.. It'd definitely be worth an admin looking into it.. Good Idea that. Think the SWM groups are admin'd / controlled by a past member so they are no good to us at the moment and sitting there empty.. Not sure if facebook allow a 'person' account for a group. (I know one of the modified clubs tried it ages ago before 'pages' were set up and the account got removed after a couple weeks.) But at the same time Im not sure if a 'page' can comment on stuff... so think we will just have to be naughty with a 'person' account... ;D |

yea the swm blue is a lot nicer to look at any way you could make it the defualt skin for everyone but think could do with some rounding on the edges as well. also may be a new banner at the top of the site. or even like i said have a ride of the months and every month the prize could be to have you car as the banner for the month.

We used to have Car of The Month but it ended up being more of a vote for your mates car than vote for the nicest car so we scrapped it to stop to many arguments.

That's what welsh ford are doing and they've been around for ages.. Maybe they did something silly while I was away and got removed for that then? *shrug* In that case I'm sure we can set one up! ;D Alex- Like I said, the current page/group on there isn't ran by anyone in the club anymore so its pretty much dead... Admins will have to have a chat about the facebook thing and see if we should try and revive the existing page or make up a new one. Also make up the personal profile like Ryan suggested. |

So we would be asking facebook to remove someone elses account/group... Doubt that'd go down well? lol. I Think a group would be better, But at the same time Ryans idea for having a club 'person' style account may help as then you can comment on peoples stuff which will help get the name out more. and i think i needs to be more of a south wales club, not just swansea :L Suggestions? Only reason there is only a Swansea meet set up at the moment is because someone from Swansea set one up? Be a bit silly for someone from Carmarthen for example to decide 'Right! we will have a monthly Cardiff meet at this random pub I just found online!'  Im planning a meet/run up Cardiff way in the summer I'll be putting up on here once I work out a tidy date (between all the shows etc). But as Admins keep having to tell people. If you want something going on in your area and there isnt anything at the moment all it takes is half hour planning from you and 2 minutes to post about it to get an event under-way. may be a meet at an even say pembrey where we can turn up if were free park together and maybe have a banner up if some one has one also there is owen motorsport in carmarthen you do arace mini's fine out if they got any events near by. or something simular. as for facebook im unsure what the best rute is try getting hold of the owner of the group or the other 'person' one and see if they are willing to change the email addres so some one on here can take over then ones thats done can change password and maybe two or three admins that are active could all have control of it. but that might be hard to do im not sure
