thanks everyone Gar, the guy who did the work did call me off to the side at one point to have a word about if i actually wanted to continue... buuut its my first Mini, its looked after me once or twice so i owe it a favour cheers valetboy. its a Titanium back box off a superbike that used to race down pembrey! its a straight through system aswell......its an aquired taste but i love it because its quite quiet compared to most mini's exhausts (suprisingly)

Like we said yesterday, thats one of those jobs that looks so easy before you start but then snowballs out of control before you know it!!! Take it one step at a time and make sure you remove all the white spirit residue before painting just in case there is a reraction with the new paint! Throw the weathershield away ! ;D ;D ;D Good luck! jc

Making good progress there Coedy. Tis not an easy task with the engine and bits n bobs in situ.

im going to try and do the verticle sections of the subframe if i can manage it tomorrow. its a bit of a let down though because even when im done i know deep down that its not really done..if you know what i mean... but id rather not take the engine out and be able to drive it if i fall behind than be stuck without a car. Thanks though it doesnt look like much but its a start i hope!

yeah i'll have a look at it, i might (i think i used the last but i'll check) have some alloy which u could have. the heat sink idea sounds good i just mounted mine on some alloy and used some heat sink paste between the two which seems to work ok, well it hasnt fryed itself and its been there 2 years i'll go measure the edis later as i cant get in the garage because my father has gone out and taken the key with him
