Could be no more than a head gasket failure, with any luck. Without pulling the head off and physically checking the bores etc it is nigh on impossible to ascertain the condition of the block assembly.

The heads got to come off to look, my rebore cost £50 but then the pistons cost slot more. If you are having a rebore you might aswell get th block pocketed at the same time.
Decided on what cam yet ?

Depending how broken everything is I plan on going sw5 because I want drivability..not sure how well it will work with a long stroke engine mind lol. If the engine needs more work than a rebore then I will leave the cam as it is based off what I've read on TMF. I doubt it will be a simple head gasket to be honest..im expecting a piston ring or something

No progress yet really. Going down tomorrow for a quote on getting it sprayed hopefully. then while its getting sprayed will make up the side panels, will be a pain to find some vents the right size for the sides though Does anyone know how to remove the bottom dash rail padding by the way? I've no idea! lol Also if anyone has a spare plastic steering column surround lemme know , Mine has got a chunk missing...grrr....

Custard has some steering column cowls, I gave mine to Laws. No idea on the bottom I know the top one, again, Custard will know the bottom rail. Try Landrover Discovery air vents

It's a needs must situation as Mr Daw said above. I'm pretty sure that the Mini bug will return in the future for you Coedy. Once bitten, forever smitten even if it means oily hands and crawling around under Minis in all weathers.
