i have tried welding a lot of times, i only end up with something that resembles pigeons poo so am always envious of someone who knows how to weld lol there is a nack to it i suppose but i tend to pick things up quickly, the hardest bit i have found is getting the heat, feed and gas right if you have that ur welding ushally is pritty good Doing a well tidy job. Nice one. thanks the main reason i did it was because im too tight to go and buy them sod paying 35 quid for something i can make for less than 5 quid

I'm being a bit thick here, but what is metal conditioner. Is it the same as panel wipe.?? What did you use to strip the old paint.?? I'm not too clued up on spraying but i know there's a new type of gun on the market now. It's a LVLP type. (Low Volume. Low Pressure).

to be honest im not expert when it comes to spraying but i thought id give it a go seeing as i have all the kit this is what ive read on metal conditioner. "It is important to clean off this surface rust and be sure the surface is chemically clean. To etch the surface for better paint adhesion, use metal conditioner. Metal prep for steel, or aluma prep for aluminum, is applied with a clean rag and immediately rinsed off with cold water, then the surface is dried. The process is the same for aluminum or steel. The metal should then be sprayed with a light coat of primer to prevent rust. Improper use of metal conditioner can cause paint failure later." as for stripping old paint i used a wire brush that goes into the chuck on my drill and a belt sander, makes life so easy ;D as for the lvlp guns i havent herd of them but sound like it will be worth resurching, thanks for mesioning it as for the flip front i managed to get a second hand one, i thought a lot before buying this, but its practically brand new, no marks or cracks and for 60 quid lol, i went for the two piece front end in the end which in a way will be better im presuming (hopping) which will be with me friday hopfully, ive managed to order my vallance and the closing brackets so that should be in tomz so im defo ganna be busy for the next few weeks, hopping to get everything ready and moted so that i dont miss too much of this years shows, and the summer!! will post more pics as i take them

good luck with fitting yous i hope u have a better time doing it than i did,

now that has rely supprised me ljonez because a lote of people have recomended me to abs motorsport saying that they are a good fitting flip front, just goes to show that not everything is what its made out to be i suppose, many thanks for the worning tho
ill bare that in mind phil j, i now that there is a fair bit of keying in the metal from the wire brush which is exactly what i wanted so that the paint adheres as best as possible, but will be putting filler primer on after my etch primmer, thanks

Looks like a good fit from here. Have you tried the steering wheel lock to lock to make sure the tyres aren't rubbing the arches.
