hi all im new to the forum and thought id start off with my little project,
I originally bought my mini in 2005 from a friend for £50.00 which I thought was pretty good, the car had no tax and no mot, and worse of all no clutch the clutch master cylinder seized over the 3 years the car had been standing in the same place, this coursed a few problems getting it home but in the end managed to. Engine wise it was sweet as it could be but having done 6800.00 on the clock I decided to have the engine stripped down and re built. Changing the clutch, gaskets and seals, plus wile I was at it having the head gas flowed and polished.
I have now got 1.5 twin su carbs and a nice stainless steel twin dtm system plus a 3:2:1 manifold for it so the engine is complete.
Now it comes to the car, as with all minis there is a larger problem with rust, when going round the car with the good old screw driver I found that there was more filler and rust than metal in her and as a result I named the car rusty have decided to replace the relevant panels, that’s wings, A panels, boot pan, the good old drivers A pillar and door steps, and sills, plus getting the chassey plated up and the wheel arches renewed. But as yet with school and work have not yet got round to welding the parts on,bought a mig and am getting to grips with using it at the moment

have managed to replace the boot floor pan and do the sills door steps and cut off the front end to add a flip front
