Time to burn the midnight oil LJ. It doesn't look any worse than what my woody was before i started it. That estate rear floor conversion is a real rarity though. I didn't expect to see rear companion bins in there. Is the subframe mounting panel the same as a saloon. It should be the same height. The Van and Pick up mounting panel is taller to accommodate the false floor.

That ain't too bad so far LJ.. I save all the non rusty panels and steel i cut out of any resto, clean it back to bare metal and use it for the smaller repairs. That old door with a rusty bottom can supply a large amount of useful steel.

Glad to hear it's staying original LJ. Once it's all done and put back on the road you'll have a very unique Van there.

Wahayyy. let the fun commence. I had a complete inner wing for my S project and what M Machine had done was modify a later Rover inner wing. They cut the Rib bashed it flat then welded it back up, flush welded all the unwanted holes with steel plates etc, until it looked like a MK2 inner wing. Paid an arm and a leg for that darned thing.

Ouch. A BOC account. That'll render your wallet a visit to intensive care. Still cheaper than those little throwaway bottles. I use Argoshield light. Was told years ago that it was the best to use for bodywork.

Nice work LJ. That's one of my next jobs to do on the Woody. I bought the repair panels for the lower heelboard repair ready made from M- Machine. Normally it's only the outermost 5 inches or so that rots. Jobs gotta be done though because it's an MOT testers favourite fail point.

Re the box sections I'm trying to get as much rustproof paint as possible on the non mating surfaces, then weld thru primer on all the mating areas. When it's all stuck together i'll waxoyl or dinitrol the cavities after the woody is sprayed.

forgot to post a pic of the best panel i managed to buy its a ( original ) complete side panel still in its protective wax from Austin Rover ;D the seller threw in the rear lights and fitted them for me cost me a small fortune but its worth every peny as they havent been produced for a few years now and are like rocking horse poo to find Ooops. I just dribbled over my keyboard. Lovely bit of kit LJ.

That's interesting. A stiffener for the inner sill. I noticed in one of your earlier pics that there was what looked like an extra lump of steel attached to the inner sill. There wasn't one on the Woody at all.

That sort of work is very slow and time consuming. But at least you'll know the jobs a good un. It's well worth the effort LJ. Keep up the good work.

That sort of work is very slow and time consuming. yeah gotta agree it took me an hour to that today mind you 15 min of that was spent in the house looking for a plaster ( and using language i can repeat on here ;D ) as i badly cut my finger whilse de-buring some steel YEEEOOOWWW. Hold it under a cold running tap. That''ll stop the bugger spurting blood everywhere.
