If you can, turn the gas flow down a bit. Should stop it freezing.

Cripes LJ. You'll have muscles in your pi*s if you carry on using that beast of a spot welder. Mine's a toy compared to that monster and it weighs a fair bit. But, they are a godsend for timesaving. Got to be worth the strain of lifting it. Keep up the good work.

Well whatever you decide, don't make any snap decisions about selling Colin. Vans are getting a lot harder to find.

Try MANSONS Welding suppliesat Neath Abbey Industrial estate.. They should be able to help. Take a wedge of cash with you though coz there's gear in there that'll make your eyes water. They aren't expensive mind you, i buy a lot of my gear from them.

Hmmm That's scary. The floor of my MK3 looks like that. It's got 3 front floorpans on it. What's called a RUST sandwich.

Can't fault the commitment LJ. You've done far more in that short time today than what i managed on the Beige one.

Time to get those thermals on LJ. Brrrr. If it gets milder you should make a lot of progress this week.

Hmmm. It's a case of 6 of one and 2 threes of the other. It depends on the size of the panels really. I spent the best part of a hundred squid on lots of bits and pieces from M-machine a little while ago and the postage was reasonably cheap i thought. Good work by the way.

Hmm. Don't blame you LJ. Not one of BLs best colours that yellow. The early Mini Vans came in the following colours. Whitehall Beige. MMMMMMMmmmm, nice. Persian Blue. Everglade Green. Cumulus Grey. Damask Red. Snowberry White. Willow Green. Tweed Grey. Marigold. White. Yukon Grey was an Elf Colour.

not had a good day achieved absolutely nothing. was in work at 5am then when i finally got home i ventured out the garage then the old faithful angle grinder packed in. luckily it turned out the brushes had worn to nothing so where replaced and its working better than ever, hopefully it will last another 10 years by the time I'd fixed the grinder it was getting dark then i burnt my finger with a ember from welding so i threw my toys out of the pram and came in. did take a pic of yesterdays progress tho. new doorstep i still need to flat the welds etc but I'm gonna leave it for now and do all the final flatting in one go at the end as i really want to get as much new steel in and painted before it gets any damper.
