ye i know the orange and black mini. works in the garage by asda. where are you from exuptoy? I'm from Maesteg m8, although I take my touring caravan down to Tenby a few times a year. Spoke to a guy down there last years with a white mini van, Alex was his name, worked on a farm near Connaston Bridge (I think thats what its called.) Nice guy too. His van was running a 998 MED lump putting out 60 odd BHP, 2 BHP less than his old 1275.

just curious did you use the tdk beam on the elf.?. Not sure what you mean m8. I have taken the van to kiln park, pennalli (sp?) court, new hedges, moorcroft farm and a few others. I like Tenby myself. It's also close enough to pembroke etc for a change.

Nah m8 I have the blue elf, check it out in the cars for sale section, the one you are on about is dean and sarah with the green one.
I have sold the elf pending the delivery of updated documents from dvla. It went for £1500 with the alloys to a 17 y.o. from Bristol. Not collected yet but a deposit has been taken. Should be gone by the end of the week. If it falls through it'll be back on here for sale.

Well the post has been busy today, This arrived first, some weld through zinc rich primer and pack of 5 intergrips. Then this strange large box, with a well packaged item inside. Genuine Rover ala5666 in electrophoretic primer so shouldn't rust as quickly as aftermarket metalwork. My updated MOT cert arrived as well from DVLA so the elf is ready for collection, can't wait now to empty the garage to get started on this again.

I'd love a spot welder LJ but the problem I have is my supply to my garage is only on an extension lead at the moment until I put the armoured cable in, so I don't have a 20amp supply available to run one. I know I'm a sparky but it's just a busmans holiday sorting it out. ;D I can run my mig ok so I will sort it out that way and punch the panel with my joggler/hole punch Does anyone know if the arc welder attachment spot welders are any good as they only cost around £30.

Just come home from collecting a trailer full of stuff. I spoke to a mate of mine regarding everything he had built up over the last few years with a regard to purchasing it. He finally realised he would not get another mini so he relented. I had a box full of bits, new and old, New Kad quickshift, 40's on a swan neck manifold (could do with a strip and rebuild), 1430 Full MED lump with belt drive conversion (needs a rebuild cos of seized clutch and weeping crank seal so I'll rebuild that, it does need a cooler though cos the pipes have been cut off it), rear cage, full set of hi-lo's and cones, 4x13inch Revos with tyres, 2 12inch 1275 GT steelies, set of minifins, 1 set of sportspack arches, 1 set of group 5 arches, some chrome trim, 1 boot, 2 doors (need skins but solid) full set of green tint GT glass, GT 3 pod clocks, boxes of bearings, seals and badges (mostly new) wood steering wheel and small black leather wheel, set of grey interior door panels, new full carpet set and various stuff in the box which I haven't even sorted yet. All for the princely sum of £350. Yeeehaaaaa!

Engine, Cage, Wheels, arches, hi-lo's and 40's deffo going on LFC but until the body is up to scratch I'm not sorting out any of it until I know how the finished article turns out and that may be a while yet. When I know what will be going I'll put the stuff up here for sale.

Piccys Can't collect the engine/box, carpets, glass and rest of the group 5's till I come home from offshore next time. Box including 40's on Oseli swan neck, new wheel cylinders and shoes, super minifins, new KAD quickshift, wheel spacers, lucas super coil and more. Trailer containing Revos, hi-lo's, arches, AP 4 pot calipers with braided t-pieces, spax adjustables, bumpers,(including 3 clubby ones), new rear valance. Revo's with good Pirelli P7F 175/50/13's AP 4 pots,Question.......are these metro turbo ones as the engine has a metro turbo box on it as well?

AP 4 pots,Question.......are these metro turbo ones as the engine has a metro turbo box on it as well? certainly metro but cant tell from that pic if their the turbo version. when looking at them from the front/top you'll see the join of the 2 halves, if theres a spacer (gives clearance for vented disk)between the halves then their turbo if not then justs standard.

Hmm. I've got some metro 4 pots here. I'll have to check to make sure that they're the same as yours.

He told me that their not for vented discs, they're for thin discs. Is there any point changing standard 8.4 discs and calipers for these, they do have the splitter fitted?

Is there any point changing standard 8.4 discs and calipers for these, they do have the splitter fitted? on a road car i dont think theres much point, a well sorted standard set up can perform just as well. those hoses look like the metro ones so you would need a conversion hose plus you will need a metro drive flange to allow clearance and a set of era bolts and posibly a rebuild if the pistons are seized. personaly i'd stick them on ebay and make a few quid
