Cripes. You have been busy. That's the only way to do it though. If in doubt, chop it out. Keep us posted of the progress. Like your signature by the way.

That plate is prob gonna be up for sale when the car is finished. I hope it is gonna fetch GOOD money. Any LFC plate will sell for reasonable money but 85 may hold special significance for some people, i.e. born in 85, born on 8/5, also Heisle was 85, not a nice time for many Liverpool fans I know but it may hold a special place for someone who wishes to remember a loved one. I suppose it is worth what ever someone will pay. Who knows, the car still needs an MOT to take it off. So that will be a while yet. Thanks for the interest.

if and when you wanna sell the plate, i'll put an advert up in the LFC shop in town for you if you like, you'll get better money for it that way...

Yeah, retro style. I have the rear lamp plates, just need the mk1 rear lamps. I purchased a set but they turned out to be van or traveller lamps. Ebay eh? Colour unknown. I like old english with a black but it's been done to death, I like black. Don't want the existing blue or another red car cos my old mk1 astra gte was red. Already owned a BRG RSP cooper so no green. I like Metallic Orange and Black, saw one in Pembroke last week. Like I say At the moment I'm not sure. I have already deseamed the mk3 bonnet below.

Received these yesterday from somerford minis. Fast service and good comms. Just to weld in the closing panel in the rear bin where it has rotted and replace the lower metalwork (seams and lower 4 inches) in the white rear quarter then it can be welded in place. Only trial fitted so far. Maybe do that tomorrow. Look at the difference in Heritage parts below and hadrian panel stuff above though. (Had I known that somerford use hadrian panels for the non genuine stuff, I might have gone to MMachine instead.)

That Mini looks familiar, did you buy it from a girl called 'Jennifer'? If so why did she sell it, I thought she loved that Mini.

Somerford are great, but I've heard good things said about Mini Machine (or M Machine, sorry Adolf) and their home made panels weld well and don't flash under the welder?

Yeah I did buy this car from Jen. Been off the road for three years and her circumstances are such that she could no longer see how she could sort it out and felt it was just rotting before her eyes. She was gutted to sell it but knew it was the right decision. I just called up her mams house and showed a little interest and left my number. I have know the car since she first had it, as her mam is just up the road from me. She knew it would go back on the road if I had it and she asked for first refusal if I ever sell it.

Sad she had to let it go, but I'm sure she'll be thrilled to bits once you've got it all finished.

Thanks Dean, Yeah it is a bit of a daunting prospect, will it all line up, will everything move about so nothing fits etc. but the plus points of putting solid metal back in far outweighs the negative aspects of a rebuild, you just have to have a bit of patience........and some BIG cojonies when your cutting it all out ;D. It will all go back though just take my time thats all.
Thanks for all the positive comments everyone.

Nice one Lyn. That's what's called being in the right place at the right time. It's not often liitle beauts like that turn up. Glad to hear that you have decided to get stuck into LFC though.
