not really much to report but progress is still being made we've decided the best option is to go for a twin rad set up, which will consist of either a shortened civic rad or lengthened mini rad up front with alloy sheet to force air thru the rad and not let it past. then there will be a cut down rad (possibly mini) side mounted where the driver side inner wing would be

That should keep the V-Tec cool enough.

we hope so problem is the engine produces 160 ponnies and theres alot less room in the mini engine bay to allow decent airflow. supose theres only one way to find out really

as with every thing the plans have changed, i have found an all aluminum radiator that will fit ( altho ne outlet needs to be cut and welded at new angle ) but it will provide a 20% larger (than standard ) surface area as well ;D
so hopefully the rad will be ordered in the next few days then as soon as i find someone willing to TIG weld the outlet that will be the cooling sorted ;D
so the to do list now consists of
1) alternator bracket 2) drive shafts 3) gear selector 4) temporary exhaust until i can afford a custom jobbie 5) fit all into the city 6) join the Honda loom to mini loom 7) enjoy ;D

bit of a thread resurrection, the whole project got shelved last summer due to lack of time however expect some new pics soon, the frame is haveing a redesign and being created out of steel tube instead as they look alot better than box section and it gives us chance to alter a few tight areas we're also expecting a delivery of a new inlet manifold this week which should allow us to not cut the bulkhead also the cooper will be donating a few parts to the build

no pics but the project got dusted off today think we have solved the bulkhead clearance problem, hopefully now it will not need to be cut at all. just waiting to get some quotes for some CNC work now

well its been a long time coming but, we've done a bit more today saw the inlet manifold clearance sorted, we had planned on creating a wedge to change the angle of the manifold but the cheapest we got quoted for a cnc'd wedge was £300 so we decided to bite the bullet and do what overs have done, cut and angle the manifold its self. so manifold cut for some reason photobucket refuses to load the pick of the angle and wedge shape thats been cut out but then two halve put back together (awaiting welding ) and they clear the bulkhead from the pics you cant really see much, i will get better pics from the side but basicly the back of the manifold has been kicked up by about 20 degrees

bit of an update picked up our freshly welded manifold today also while we where there he altered our rad for us, the filler neck was chopped off and plated over and the one out let cut and a fresh one welded on but at an angle to allow clearance might actually make some progress now
