Cheers taffy, I think the fusebox needs a bit of a clean. I took it off briefly earlier and the contacts look a bit rusty and theres a big blob of solder on one of them. Probably the 2nd fuse at fault with the brake lights, although I'll have a check of the brake light switch on the multimeter aswell. Bloody electrical gremlins are a right royal pain

Yeah well the fuseboxes are usually pretty tough, so if the contacts are brittle then its best the whole thing be replaced anyway really. I'll gauge how useable it is when I next get a chance and take it off. Could just be the tabs need a bit of wire brushing, we'll see.

No problem and if the fusebox is suspect, then just fit a replacement as their not expensive and they do last a long time anyway. But coat the rear terminals in Vaseline first so they don't rust out any time soon (just don't use copper grease though). Here's the fusebox wiring order: - i.e.: - White - Green Brown - Purple Light Green/White - Light Green/Orange Red - Red/Green

Thanks for that taffy, you're a star. Especially since knowing me I'll dive straight in and rip it out without any attention to what goes where hehe Gonna pay a visit to jamie in pontarddullais soon I think, pick up a flasher unit and a fusebox.

Been a while since I've posted up about little Snobby, but I've been busy with exams etc so really havnt done much, if anything actually. Got a bit more progress on the way underbonnet, a sneek peek at the alternator thats in the spray booth shed. It was a pig to get out without scratching anything, a piece of steel has been welded on the front panel behind the grille at an angle, and i think it was meant to be at 90 degrees, so that got in the way. Just worried about getting it back in without wrecking the new paint So continuing with the green and black theme... here you go, need to brush paint the sides black, and tidy up some of the green but you get the idea!

amys been busy putting overriders on snobby, and I've been making a little spray booth under the bonnet lol Got the brake servo in primer, going to paint it tomorrow I think, if it stays dry outside Not sure on this one, but worth asking... When I bolt the resevoir back on, will the brakes need bleeding? There was a hiss as I unbolted it, where the vacuum let air in, so how does it seal up and become a vacuum again?

the brake fluid isnt involved with the joining of the master cylinder and the servo. that would be the diaphram releasing any pressure that would be still in the servo. replace the seal between mastercylinder and servo if there is one there. there was on mine but ive seen them without.

There wasnt a seal there, or even remains of a perished one, so I'll assume that bolting it back on will be fine then?

Awesome, well its back on now anyway, as is the new fuse box, but the brake lights still dont work, nor do the drivers side side lights weirdly. All the bulbs are fine, but its front and back so that leads me to believe the two are part of the same circuit? But I have no haynes manual now, left it in bristol when we went to the great western mini show.

there is 4 inline fuses behind the dash clocks all 4 being blue with a coloured stripe. (cant remember what colour stripe though) hope that helps. there for the side lights and for dip beam i think.
