Okay so I posted my thoughts after someone (a new member who just joined to cause trouble) started a thread on The Mini Forum dissing the real Mini in favour of the BINI with regards to their experience on this years L2BR. Sadly the thread has got pulled now, but I did receive this PM from a moderator: - So I made a few Nazi jokes and posted this picture of what I regarded the L2BR would be like with only BINIs present: - Oh and when someone said I really shouldn't be mentioning Hitler and the Nazi's, I then pointed out the fact that it worked for Basil Fawlty: - Okay so I'm probably going to get defrocked sometime soon, but I just can't sit back and listen to sarcastic rubbish from people who diss the real Mini in favour of the BINI and clearly have no brain cells.

The Mini Forum. It's usually okay there, even though BINI bashing isn't tolerated. But that's fine, so long as a BINI lover doesn't go bashing a real Mini, which is when people (like me) start to get annoyed and give it some right back. I don't usually mind, but the guy got up my nose a bit and I so I probably went a bit too far.

Thanks Keats, but the miserable bleeders have reinstated that thread with all the replies removed and a warning: - www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=125117Pathetic if you ask me as they're showing favour to someone who only joined up to cause trouble and all the regulars get a warning and I'm banned from posting for a day.

I totally agree with you Taffy, However I can understand why they pulled it, Unfortunately the PC brigade could and probably would report them for allowing "un politically correct " material on their website, I don't think what you posted was raciest, but these days too many people are over cautious, as it would only take one person with a grudge against a site to start the ball rolling regarding legal action. ( and that would be against the site owner )
As far as I'm concerned the bini's spoiled the L2B run as they could have easily filled it with classics alone and listening to some of them talking was like having Aston back on here lol.

Well I'm a real dummy and the truth has just dawned on me as at least 2 members from the truly appalling Mini Forum called 'Minifinity' have suddenly turned up on The Mini Forum. It's quite a surprise really as the last time one of them was there he started up a thread and accused every single member of being potential BINI vandals. The guy has real issues and he's now on there trying to be nice to everyone. His username is 'Roga'. The other goes by the name of 'themaninthesuitcase' and he's the most unpleasant character you could ever come across and a few years back when I'd had enough of Minifinity due to their horrible attitude problems, I told them that I was off to join The Mini Forum instead and he said he'd never go back there as he wasn't welcome due to being pro-BINI. So it seems that the troll who started the row is probably one of those 2 and if they allow them to alienate everyone like they did on Minifinity, then The Mini Forum is going to become very quiet with few members too. Either way their welcome to it as now I'm un-suspended (I assume anyway) I'm going to leave a farewell message and point out a few facts too. It's a shame because I received quite a few PM's from members who supported me (one came from a moderator there) stating how the vast majority of members there hate the BINI brigade, but the powers that be insist that it's welcome and woe betide anyway who sends Bini bashing posts. So all the regular members got their posts removed, received warnings and at least me I think or possibly more got their accounts temporarily suspended. Yet that thread was re-opened even though it's from a troll. Just what the hell is wrong with people? Are they really that stupid or do they want the BINI on board because their afraid the classic will eventually fade away in time or something? Anyway I really don't care, but the mod who got heavy with me claimed the thread just re-appeared after he'd deleted it. Yes right. Oh and to add insult to injury my so called mate who press ganged me into joining his Mainstream Cooper Register site/forum has now deleted the place and that's why I have a broken signature (which I'm going to sort out). It seems it's fine for him to be rude and patronising to everyone there, but he doesn't like it when people argue back like what I've done a few times and so he recently told me to shut my trap. Nice considering all the hard work I put into creating that forum. But then he has sold his Mini (because his misses wouldn't allow him to re-shell it with a brand new Heritage Shell) and so I knew this was going to happen next. Very spiteful though considering there were around 140 members there. I tried being civil and sent him an e-mail but he hasn't replied so that's that then.

Well there's a thread on The Mini Forum started by an exec member of the LSMOC who was asking for suggestions on how to improve the run next year and many members stated how they want them to run separate runs for the Mini and the BINI as it's clearly an 'us and them' situation and there's a fair bit of bad feeling about it to. Plus BINI owners don't acknowledge the real Mini owners either, not even wave or anything during or after the run. So lets hope they see sense and arrange separate runs instead.

Well I honestly don't enjoy arguing and being nasty as I prefer peace and love and all that. But I'll always defend the things I like, especially when someone is being a complete arrogant pratt and to be honest they know they can't win an argument with me. So I think the best thing I can do is just leave them to it as it's just not worth worrying about. Plus I get enough grief at home for spending too much time on the net and defending the real Mini and stuff, when I should really be helping Marie out with the baby. So she's right and I need to let it drop because I'm looking like a right fool and their just sitting back and laughing whilst everyone kicks off. Why did BMW have to buy the Mini name as we really wouldn't be in this mess now if they hadn't.

Yes it does seem like the reviews are very mixed and most were unhappy about that record stunt they tried to pull in Crystal Palace. Plus the huge rubber speed humps that were just waiting to damage the Minis undersides. It was bad that some Minis hadn't reached Croydon by 2.30pm and so I've heard that many just headed for home and didn't bother driving all the way to Brighton. It's just typical of the shoddy way things are done in this country and I know I wouldn't have been happy if I'd been stuck in Crystal Palace till gone 12.30pm or even later.

It really annoys me how we're expected to get on with the BINI brigade when they can't be bothered with us. Okay there's 2 sides to every story, but why can't they see that it's almost like trying to get 2 differing football team supporters to hang out together. It's just not going to happen and why can't they realise this? I know some annoying people own a real Mini and a BINI and their the ones who shout the loudest and then try to ram their views down your throat. So I honestly see it as 2 differing football team supporters (like say Liverpool vs Manchester United) and we're made to feel immature for not making an effort and getting on together. To be honest it's half the reason why I put my Mini in the garage for 3 years, left the Mini scene and considered selling my Mini too. Sadly nothing has improved there, but I've learned to ignore the muppets. Or at least try.

Well I wouldn't be happy at all and if my Mini got damaged then I'd be sending the LSMOC the bill as they should have been prepared for lots of Minis using Crystal Palace and arranged to have those speed humps moved earlier. Because they were eventually moved after loads of complaints. I can remember attending a Mini show back in the summer of 1987 (yes I've been around) at a place called Verbeer Manor, which is just down the M5. The speed humps there were concrete and huge and there was absolute hell to play as there were so many early mint Minis present and no doubt a few got damaged. The organisers claimed the humps weren't there when they first booked the venue, but a Mini show never took place there again.

SO! DONT BUY TICKETS! the lsmoc dont own the roads! Last year we just followed my mate (now ex-mate it seems) and his family and he'd done it a few times and so we parked outside Crystal Palace and then made our own way there. He also avoided the traffic entering Brighton by taking the long way around and it paid off. If you make a big weekend of it and stay a few nights then it's fine, but driving all the way home after driving all the way to Brighton first was very bloody tiring and we didn't get home until close on midnight. Then it took us a couple of days to recover because it really took it out of us. So thank god our Mini behaved amazingly all weekend and didn't miss a beat. Because we'd have been on a trailer home otherwise.
