Here is the start of my project with the Mini 35 i got back in May which was up for sale on here. Havnt done much so far just serviced and MOT. Been working on body rust the last couple of weeks and finally finished today. Took ages to find the right paint. but i think i got a good match and result. Well this is her when i got her. Then i got some minilites for her at a bargin price. So there was rust here and here... and also on the roof drain hole, this photo was halfway through painting though. So i got spaying! then got the laqure on it. . to be honest i think i did a pretty good job since i have never done this before. haha just wait till the laqure hardens properly then check for any imperfections. Also got rid of that tatty grill and got a nice chuncky one. What i want this to turn out like is going to be somthing a little like this hopefully. (my photoshop skills and bordem coming into effect here) tell me what you think and any advice on where to go next??

so ive had to take all of the seats out today and carpet because all the snow we had got in the car and made everything damp! the parcel shelf board at the back is completely warped out of shape and has got mold growing on it. DAM SNOW! Just wanted to know, when you fit a center console how do u stop water from coming in through the gear lever hole?

there should be a rubber/felt weather shield screwed to the exhaust tunnel... just leave that there?
The center consoles literally just slot over the gear stick and then just rest in position?

Got new Wood and Pickett arches on the way which are going to be painted the same colour, then get that roof looking black! Popping some wheel spacers on the back wheels to get them flush with the arches too! Then get me black bonnet stripes on, move inside then into the monte carlo interior which needs to be fitted! Changed all the seals within the engine now which I can think of and got as much of the rust under control as I can afford at this moment in time! Then as I get work over the summer, add some spots and floods to the front with! Attempt to get the seats re-trimmed. And change the exhaust, possibly a DTM but I'm thinking of something a bit more discreet now? One day it's going to change colour maybe?? Thinking of a really dark red or something unusual! Gunna wait a few year though until I have enough money to do the whole shabang on it and change a few panels and shizz first! What you thinking of doing to yours Sam?

Yeah, gotta save as many pennies for uni, so I can't really afford to do much. Mine's rusting a bit but I can't afford to do much about that right now, I'm gonna get some deep black revs or maybe superlites (whatever I can find cheap 2nd hand!), these arches www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_SPDSP-6J.html ummmm, just get it running a bit better, soon my granddad's gonna fit my engine steady, get all the radio stuff sorted and after that I'll get the engine tuned. Nowhere near "project" mods, just a few small things really, I'm thinking black roof in the long run though, would look mega sexy, then like a rich green body in the long run. Should all be ready for the summer. How much will it cost you to get it all tidy and done Jack?

looks like good progress there. Good choice with the arches as well. Im no expert on these things and you may now this already but when you fix the arches make sure you fill the screw holes with some anti corrosion paste (dont know the offical name ) or itl start to rust the panels again.

So the end is near of this little project!
Just ordered my new black carpet, and new fog light!
So the sequence goes: Paint and protect the new sill! Paint the wing! Fit and paint the arches! Fit new carpet and door cards and general interior!
MOT and Tax!
Then done! hopefully within the month ill be wizzing back round the streets of cardiff again!
Quick question though? How do you get the car to a MOT centre when you havnt got a MOT to drive it on the road? is there a way of getting it there without having to trailer it?

You have to have it insured and booked into the MOT Garage for the MOT Test then you can legally drive it to the MOT Garage.
Once you've got your MOT (hopefully!) you can then go and tax it.
