Hmm it is tempting. I'm defo gonna leave it as it is for now for two reasons, 1. Don't want to rush into something il regret, 2. I'm now offically broke! Next job after stage one is to do up the interior and clean up engine bay

Before Hi-Lows were invented the chopping of trumpets was the done thing. Very little needs to be shaved off the ends to get to the desired height, but the front trumpets would need a cone compressor and the job could get tedious if you have to take them off again and again to reach the desired height. If you chop off too much at least you can use washers to raise the height again. I've got a formula somewhere which helps you work out how much needs to be cut off.

Thanks Dai but if I were to do it I'd probs go down the hi-los route. Less fuss

Not a fan of the lowered Minis There are far too many sleeping Policemen and potholes around these days that can easily wreck a standard Mini suspension without compounding the matter by lowering the whole car! I have had front Hi-LO's on my car for a good few years now but only so I can adjust the suspension to the best ride height - not for lowering for looks! Keep it as it is I say - It looks great

Stage one has just been booked in to Target Mini for thursday !!!!!!! They said theyll get it running nice but it will almost definatly need a rolling road to be perfect. I know this has been asked before but does anyone know of a good rolling road in the swansea area. Preferably someone who actually knows about mini engines and not some turnip who hasnt got a clue (heard some horror stories). Thanks

Trouble is no matter where you go in south Wales there are horror stories to different rolling roads..
Mosleys Rolling road Ive heard one good thing, one bad thing.
Wilfield Rolling road Ive heard a few things, equally good and bad.
Spamspeed Ive had good and bad reviews.
May be worth checking out the previous & current issue of MiniMag (by current I mean the one that went out to subscribers early today) because they are doing a rolling road trip of the UK going to Mini friendly garages so far they are all in England...But youll get a good Before and after test of the tuning...?

Well theres good news and bad news. Good news first, the stage one is fitted and its outstanding. Looks amazing and sonds great so im really pleased with it. Il try and get pics tomorrow. Bad news....its STILL leaking. Today was the first time its been out in proper rain and its coming in. Its bone dry as soon as you get off the floor so i dont think its coming from the windscreen and running down. Its more than likely coming from under the floor as rain splashes up. This was all supposed to be sorted so i offically depressed Got to go down to ammanford tomorrow to get him to look at it. BAD TIMES
