Hmmm, maybe I'll just get the new radio, since either way I'll get it, and if when wired up it doesn't work, then I'll look into more solutions...

Got my new radio, installed it and plugged it all in and stuff. When I press the power button nothing happens, but when I press eject it lights up, ejects and says "ejecting". Why won't it turn on? I think it has something to do with fuses after a browse of TMF, just hoping someone might have an idea here to help me

most likely that you got the permanent live (used to keep the memory) but not the switched live which powers it

It should be a red wire and a yellow wire from the cars wiring loom coming into the back of the radio Sam. You will need to check to see if there is 12v on the red wire all the time and on the yellow wire only when the ignition switch is turned onto its 1st position. You can use a voltmeter or just a test lamp to do this. Any clearer

Yeah I know now. On those "Lego" plug things, at the back? And I'm not bothered about the memory one for now anyway. So can I just put the two wires into the red? I've read that on a few forums now.

It doesnt really matter what colour wires are there Sam, the important thing is to find out which one is 12v permanently, which one is 12v with the ignition on (maybe just on Acc position), which one is connected to earth (car bodywork). To do that you are gonna need a voltmeter or a test lamp. The Purple or green or grey or white should normally be in pairs and connect to your speakers (one coloured pair to left speaker and another coloured pair to the right speaker) My radio has - Red wire for 12v permanently Yellow wire for 12v ignition 12v Black wire earthed to bodywork Blue wire (not used) for electric aerial connection. Grey and grey with a black stripe to left speaker (or maybe white) Green and green with a black stripe to right speaker (or maybe purple) Has that confused you even more ;D

I am guessing this is on the new radio you bought?
There should be a wiring diagram showing which is which, then just connect those wires up to the relevant wires where the original radio was in your car.
