Yep, push or pull. IN your Mini's case because of the flippy fronty it will probably need pushing by someone else.
As for when the rocker is fully open, you will have to watch it as the engine turns and when the rocker starts to close you need to stop pushing or pulling and just roll the car back a little bit until the rocker is fully open or very close to fully open.
The tappet adjuster has been hammered against the underside of the rocker so it will be a bit tight.
Put the lock nut on first before trying to unjam the adjuster screw in case you damage the screwdriver end.

I'm okay thanks.. Was completely my own fault though. No matter how good minis handle it wasn't going to make it round a roundabout doing 80 that's for sure.. Hit the roundabout bounced off hit the kerb on the side.. Shot up a 20ft bank, hit a tree and span round into another road..

Think it's savable I'm just glad that I learned a valuable lesson without getting hurt.. Or hurting someone else I feel so ba after Larson had invested his own time and effort to help me.. Fairplay to the copper they had me on CCTV racing the c2 and witnesses saying that I was racing.. But he could see that I was shocked and learned from it.. 3 points & a £60 fine..

As has been said elsewhere, the Mini is just a damaged machine that can be put back together.

Your body is not that simple to fix - sounds like you were very lucky!!!!!

I think everyone on here has had an "experience" early on in their driving life which shocked the cr@p out of them but which they learnt a valuable lesson from!

I know I certainly did anyway!!!!
