I may have just done a deal on a 69 mk3 elf. The guy is putting new brakes and a ticket on it before I collect (and pay for it). Totally original even down to the wheel hub caps and mkIII badges and blue leather interior (scruffy) Try to get some pics this week.

The guy lives across the road from me so don't have to go far, I just hope the mot doesn't prove too expensive so the price goes silly. It shouldn't be too bad though cos it is garaged permanently and was used daily til end of 2005 and the sills have already been plated previously. Still keeping the mayfair going tho, can't see the kids being too impressed with an elf cos it's just not a mini is it. .

Mmmmmm. Tidy. Still on the wet suspension as well. Can't be bad. Got a Hydrolastic pump here if ever you need to pump it up.

She's had paint Phil and in fact it looks quite thick (with a few small run), so should cut back nicely. A few scratch marks where it was rubbed down with too heavy grit paper and not fined down properly. Should clean up well though. I'll sort the paint on the roof first prob snowberry white, is that the proper colour for the roof? Anyone?

If it's Persian Blue (BN39), the roofshould be Snowberry White (WT4) If it's Florentine Blue (BU7), the roof should be Old English White,(WT3). I spotted the hydro pipes coming out of the top of the Front subframe .

Where would I find the paint code on this or is it too old so would need paint chips (swatch) to find it?

I asked him if it was florentine cos I didn't realise there were 2 possible colours and he said he thought that was the colour. I was led to believe by someone on the elf/hornet register that the blue that they painted on a 69 mkIII was florentine So I assume it is. Unless someone could correct me.

What colour is the headlining and what colour are the door seals. If it's Florentine Blue you should have Pale cream headlining and Natural rubber door seals. The door seals could well have been changed in it's lifetime though.

The headlining appears to have a shimmery fan pattern through it but needs a clean and the door seals are a bluey colour although it has an offside seal fitted backwards on the near side ( ) which being back to front has the rubber inside and has started to disintegrate where the door has been closing on the webbing. So I will be trying to replace the both door seals if I can find the original type. Do you know where it can be purchased?
