The gearbox was delivered this morning. Got it off Fleabay. Originally off an Austin A35 with really low mileage, but it's the same box.
Cost me just over £40 quid. A few guys on the Moggy forum passed it between them and got it down to me ;D;D ;D

Finally got the new gearbox in today ;D ;D ;D ;D
Got to get used to the new gearbox as it isn't as 'sloppy' as the old one (don't have to go fishing for a gear ;D)
Also on this box I don't have to lift the gearstick for reverse. That really will take some getting used to.

Tim is now for sale. There is a crack in the chassis leg that can be repaired but not by myself as it requires knowledge of welding. I am open to offers if anyone on here is interested PM me.

A VERY VERY VERY sad moment has come to pass. At 08:15 this morning Tim departed from the Coles residence I shall miss him a lot, we had some good times ;D.

Tim is now on ebay cgi.ebay.co.uk/1954-MORRIS-MINOR-SERIES-II-SPLITSCREEN_W0QQitemZ260518416484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item3ca81b9064I wont tell you what I think of the guy All I can say is so much for him spending thousands on him and getting him looking like new. The whole add on ebay is a complete crock of S**T. He made out on the moggy forum that it is ok to drive. Obviously not if there is a crack in the chassis!!! Was fine when it left me and oh wait... on the moggy forum he needs help because he has suddenly acquired a switch for his other car that he needs help fitting. Hmmm obviously not a expert as it needs quite a bit of bodywork done. It was worth what he paid me for it £500. When Tim left the big ends had gone - that wasn't just my opinion but the opinion of a mate who has been in the motor trade for 40+ years and worked on these cars when they were fairly new. Naffed big ends = sweet engine I DON'T THINK SO!!!
