Fitted my new rocker cover and some new HT leads the other day: Think it looks good so far. I don't think I'm going to add any more red the the engine bay i think i'll just clean everything up and add some things from Smiffy Bits to finish things off, keep it nice and simple Black, Red and Chrome/Stainless.... I also bought some ice for the mini the other day to. I'm going to sound proof the interior with Dynamat Xtreme, i've bought some door pockets with speaker holes from Bolt on Bits which are going to house some Hertz HSK 130 Components with the tweeters on the top dash rail by the A-pillar, I'm going to put some Genesis p69's under the back seats on a Burr Walnut speaker board and i've got a Vibe Blackbox Stereo 4 amp to mount in the boot. I think that'll give me the sound that I'm after. What do you think?

Looking good dan, maybe just a red powedercoated brake res cover? I know smiffy used to do them, dunno if he still will. Ice sounds good, but those door bins will rattle like you wont believe I have them myself and it took a lot of deadening to stop them, plus I think a dab of fibreglass will help.

yeah, i was looking at a guys thread on theminiforum and he used some silicone sealer to seal up the gaps which he said worked, he used a load of dynamat to.
What are Kenwood 6x9 Subs like?

They're pretty good from what I've heard, and come with their own amp. But If you want quality then I'd spend the extra cash on some Genesis p69's I think they're called.

As Danny said, Genesis do the absolute best 6x9 subs but on a budget lots of people are happy with the kenwoods. The Genesis ones get a bit more expensive because they will need a amp.. If your after a real budget set up I did see someone using a set of those vibe rectangular 6x9s (can't remember the model number) because they are well known for being pretty bassy and they put a small amp into them using the low pass filter. To stop vocals coming through. Three options there for you

Started fitting my new ice a few days ago, i've gone with Dynamat on the floor, doors and quarter panels, Hertz HSK130 component in the front and Genesis P69's under the rear seats, all powered by a Vibe Blackbox 4 amp. I've fitted most of it, tested it quick earlier and everything works so i just got to fit it all properly and make it all look nice now. Roll on tomorrow!

dynamat is a good choice and with the mpi's being quieter any way it should make a big difference. i'll have to have a nose at the show
