It's been awhile since anything has happened here, so I'll give a small update. Basically we're waiting until the dormer is done on the house and the garage is extended before we get any large jobs done. However Dad is itching to get started (as am I) so he had to get underneath to check it out. He found that although there is some rust underneath, it's all solid and has been waxoyled for it's entire life basically. So we're chuffed. Dad tidied up the sills and then painted them with something, I can't remember lol. PICS!

Well we were at malvern today, saw the south wales minis stand looking good guys, didn't notice any of your guys around though, you must've been hunting out bargains We were hoping to find lots of stuff and come away with some goodies, but nothing really took our fancy, or we knew it was cheaper to buy it online anyway. So all we came away with was some nice chrome rounded wing mirrors. Bit of a disappointment, but nevermind, just means we've decided to put in an order to minisport or other such places n get some nice shiny parts sent our way Pics of new wing mirrors when dad takes pic, or I do next weekend. edit : New wheels ordered. 12 x 6 Deep Dish effect MWS Superlights Probably order a Maniflow 2" Twin Upswept Centre Exit Stainless Steel Exhaust soon too

Hopefully get it all done over next month, and she'll be good for a year or two. Also, wing mirrors have arrived, wheels are on the way, arches will be ordered soon. Enquired about exhaust system. Getting things rolling finally

Glad to see that you're getting stuck in with the project JB. You'll be on the road before you realise it. Let's hope we have a nice long dry summer.

Update : Dad informs me that he has ordered a Stage 1 kit with exhaust. I presume from somerford minis and I presume it's a 2" twin DTM from maniflow kit. Will get more details off him soon lol

jb senior here , bit of black pipe is 5/8" heater hose supplied by somerford for the inlet manifold. does look like its fixed to the front pipe in picture mind! good delivery from them and only £9 bargain

word of warning it is much less hassle to go without the heated inlet manifold as it doesnt help when enigne warm for obvious reasons.. no one i know has used the heated manifold waterway. i used the hole to run my fuel breather return from carb to inner wing vacuum cylinder

got to agree with jjitaljob
what you really want is air going in to the engine as cold as posible.
when air is cold its denser which gives more power for the same volume, hence the reason for cold air feeds etc and for inter coolers on turbos.
basicly cold air good, hot air bad
