basicly the heated part of the manifold was devised to help stop carb iceing in cold climates, not really a problem in the uk,

heated manifolds also improve thermal efficiency from start up reducing the length of time choke is required. But you are right cold dense air is the way to go for power so we wont be using the heater hose!! jb snr

yes it does mean you dont need choke for half the time but you do get a decrease in power and its notciable.

Northwest minis I believe.
We'll have to wait n see what it's like to fit them lol.
We've got 12x6 on the way, so yeah they are an inch wider that standard. They may have a slight offset too I can't remember.

Small update, arches have been painted white. Doors are finished, just fininshing other bits of rust this week, hopefully be done by the end of the week. Will put some photos up of doors/arches next to the car later on edit - okay so I didn't get any pictures, but we got the doors back today and they look really good. The guy who did them for us wasn't happy but they are fantastic lol. Took two arches up with us and one wheel to try them out. Arches fit quite well but need to cut some gaps to get the seams to fit in and then get them to fit flush to the body work. Wheels fit will, but do need some body modification to get full lock, not too bad though. We will be refitting the doors tomorrow, and the new wing mirrors. Before she goes back for the rest of the rust, which will hopefully be done by the weekend. At which point we will make a plan of attack on what to do next lol. I would guess we will fit the wheels n get them to turn to full lock first... then make a start on the arches, we'll take our time with those as we've not done anything like that before... Then once all that is fitted we can do the exhaust and stage 1 kit

Well we went and fitted the doors and new wing mirrors today, they look very good. However we accidently chipped some of the repair work on the passenger door, so it will have to be redone. Here are some pics of the drivers side

Good news, that chip has been repaired, as has all the other rust spots we asked for. just need to be painted now, then we can have her back and start the trial and error that is gonna be fitting the arches and wheels...
