ok so my flasher relay still gone so i have no radio, no indictors and no internal light. in my frustration i ended up pulling a lot of things off my mini for the hell of it. and i was greeted by the problems that my leaking windscreen has created. just take a look. as a result i got some seals a while back to tackle this problem but think i going to just live with the rust and no carpet now till summer when i take her off the road for a while to get some work done.

Hopefully you've caught the rust in time and it's nothing unusual to see on a 13 year old Mini.

Looks like those could quite easily be plated! The drivers side section could need a bit more playing around but definitely save-able! ;D

No interior light? Do your hazard warning lights work? Oh yes and where is the main fuse box and is it of the older 4 fuse or later 24 fuse box variety?

But all your problems seem to relate to that particular fuse box circuit? I'd get it checked again and perhaps there's a bad connection on one of the terminals or perhaps the rear contacts (if the newer fuse boxes had them) have corroded?
Probably one of the reasons why they moved that fuse box inside the car for the Twin-Point Minis?

silly thing worth pointing out.... If I ever get Indicator problems I check the bulbs, then the fuses, then the hazard switch.... If the hazard switch plays up it sends the majority of my car into meltdown! just one indicator works, or neither work...
sometimes my hazard switch gets stuck between clicks, so it LOOKS correct, but flicking it on then back off again usually makes it seat properly and as a result I get my electrics back! ;D
Worth checking...?

well just an update.....!
a month on and still no power in my car, taken it to garage and they say there is no current getting to the switches.....?
they going to be sorting it out for me now as i just need the job done.
also on my way home from work last night i had to slam on the brakes as somebody decided to stop at a roundabout with nothing coming for the hell of it as a result my driver side calliper decided to explode and shred everything, warped my brake disk..... so now not only is it in garage to have new electrics i now need a hole new brake system on both sides..... was tempted to up-rate to a performance system but i dont have 300 lying about.

Bad news, but standard brakes in good order are more than adequate.
I like EBC Green-Stuff pads, because there's virtually zero brake dust and I've not managed to cook them either.
But some say they don't work that well, or at least not too good until well warmed up.
I've had not problems with them though and I could cause bog standard pads to fade in no time on the mountains here in the Rhondda.

yea i got the green stuff pads as well, my aloys are a bitch to keep clean so i though it was the best option, i am getting some black stuff pads coming with the disks as it worked out cheaper for some reason, so if they are no good i will do a swap.
i still havent got around to getting a CD player that all i wanted when i first got the car something to attach my ipod too. almost a year on and i not got it as everything keeps falling off my mini.

we must have the only green stuff pads that produce same brake dust as normal pads + cant say have noticed any difference in braking to normal pads either

it one of those things, i have the most unlucky mini in the world so my pads will be worse than the last pair i bet you.
thinking i need to rename the mini to something more fitting to her history with me, any ideas. basically every time i get in it it is truly a mini adventure as i never know what will go wrong next. and i work 40 miles from my house ahhhh.
