Hi Callum, congrats on your first Mini You could try fixing the wire back on, I used to use a thin copper tape to fix them but havn't seen any for sale for years With the heaters, I would try checking under the bonnet to see if the cable that joins the heater tap isnt siezed or snapped, If it is you can switch it to hot air manually Hope this helps

What year/age is your Mini City? Up to around 1988/89 and the heater cable needs to be pushed in for heat, but post 1988/89 and you have to pull it out.
There could also be a blockage in the heater matrix, or the thermostat just needs replacing.

yeah its 1988 so i dunno haha how do i put pictures on here? I suppose it could be either then really. But if the heater control knob has blue and red arrows on it, then you'll be wanting to pull it out for heat. If it's silver and black and has a picture of heat or whatever, then it'll be in. I know that all post October 1988 Minis got equipped with the then new tandem type brake servo.

ah thank you who runs this site? It's a sinister mystery and rumour has it that it's this bloke who runs things and he has delusions of grandeur and wants to rule the world: - Or it could just be Phil?

It looks very nice, but a central column would be damned difficult to achieve, if not near impossible?

Sorry my wires were crossed and I thought you meant that you wanted to mount your whole steering column in the centre of the car. lol
So yes a central console will fit just fine.
;D

Well it was pretty thick and we had more earlier on today, but now it's just frozen. So we're staying in and thankfully our Mini is safely tucked away in the garage.
