Worth a go at making one, if you fail, buy one? I get way too excited with power tools, always cut too much off

I read somewhere that centre consoles are bad as you end up kicking seven shades out of them?

Two things to remember if you are gonna make a centre console yourself... 1. Dont let the side of the console interfere with your foots operation of the clutch pedal. 2. Dont make it so that it traps the output hot air from your heater behind the console. The chances are you can melt some bits of the console (radio, gauges, switches etc.) or there wont be any heat getting into the car and you will have feet like lumps of ice !!! I made one a long time ago which is still in the Mini to this day and found out the pitfalls by trial and error

well with the cardiff mini run just 13 days away now, me and my dad are trying to get the mini finished and ready for an MOT so we spent all day yesterday go through the car, and the long list of things to be done has decreased in length quite quickly lol, we spent the whole day yesterday sorting bits and pieces out we managed to get quite a bit done: - brakes have all been serviced and sorted, as well as the handbrake, brake lines all seem to be good - Ball joints have been sorted - Front and rear Radius arms have also been sorted - the arches have been fitted to sills properly - the fog light has finally been fitted just need to be wired to the switch - the exhaust has been lifted up more, and clamped a bit better to the y piece - I also waxoyled the underneath again and the front end - we fitted the new engine mount as we still hadn't got round to doing that - Adjusted the passenger door as it stuck out a bit - gave it an MOT check whilst going through everything and so far it looks good and should go through with no problems apart from a tyre lol still got a good bit of work to do though, we're hoping to book it in for an MOT this weekend coming hopefully so far i need a rear wheel cylinder, a tyre and a wheel stud im picking a set of wheel nuts and locking nuts up tonight from lyn as mine are all mix and match lol, its mostly interior things that need sorting now then it should be finished
