Tidy. The lighting problem had to be something simple. The Flubber's starting to take shape for the weekend now.

Must be a dodgy body.... This is a different carb altogether now... I just took the bottom off, saw loads of evarated fuel powder, so took it to work, striped it, cleaned it up, and rebuilt it.
Nothing was changed, other than the needle and jet....

Nope.
Got several ideas from people...
Seized Relase bearing loose flywheel loose clutch incorrect thrust bearings dropped thrust...
No idea, its currently sat in the shed now, wait for me to feel better to srip it and find out.

was ur engine a complete new build or did you re-use bearings etc?

everythings brand new. I built it up from a bare block.
Apart from the clutch cover... the plunger and bearing seemed ok, those were the only s/h bits on it.

ok, I've found my clutch problem... Engine is now apart again.... On my purpose made engien bench And well, took the centre cap out... checked the thrusts... and well... what thrusts? This is one side The other side was fine, little suffing from general wear, but not as bad as that... It would seem, after measuring them, there was one thrust slightly bigger than the rest... guess which it was? This is what its meant to look like new.... Thankfully, only doing 50miles, its not touched the crank... So all I need is a DTI, and I can check it all once again

So. Would i be correct in assuming that you were supplied the wrong thrust bearings. IE. unmatched set.

I think so Dai.
I don't like Minisport at the best of times, but when they have an offer for a Genuine Crank, with bearing sheels, and thrusts, for £150, I kinda jumped at the chance.
I have genuine AE Thrusts to go in now, so far, with using a feeler gauge, and only having the top thrusts in, I have deffo got 4 thou clearance, but I want to get the cap on, and thrusts all in, and a DTI before I am happy to say that its set to go again.

I'd take out the other thrusts as well, the ones in the block. There's a very good chance that one of those is Donald Ducked as well.. Did the crank spin freely before you put the Rods on or was it a bit tight..

I am changing the lot, no point just doing one side, and I think they should be changed in pairs anywhoo...? Before the pistons went it, it turned like a dream, maybe a tad on a tight side, but I put this down to it being new... Which ever way you look at it, I have knacker thrusts, this causing my clutch problem Do you think 4thou is enough for a spec like mine?
