Weird indeed.  Check what JC says just in case. The only thing i can add to that is maybe You've got an airlock in the cooling system. Sometimes happens when you change a rad. Undo the heater hose where it joins the bottom hose and crank the engine over until water comes out. Be careful in-case the water is hot Check the water level in the rad afterwards.. |

thanks for the advice both will have to check that tomorrow!
would there be any other reason that those two wouldnt be working
apperently the pump stopped working due to the fan moving all the time as the rad was moving or something? luke didnt explain it very well

Danni,
Good to see you putting in the work to get the Mini running right, don't cut corners when it comes to the cooling system, it will cost you in the long run....if it's dry tomorrow, I'm planning a drive down your way, let me know if you are around so My Mini can meet Yours.........

little update. the new water pump was fitted yesturday as the old one didnt seem like itd last anyways. i went trailing around in the mini after work today on a "mission" to find a place that sold a temperature transmitter. finally found a place and got the part! going to be fitted friday so i should have a better reading for temperature then! hopefuly the weather will pick up so the car can have a good clean ready for the show. check all the engine things i do weekly and the mini will be good to go  bits ill be picking up are the show will most deffinately be a lower dash rail and switch panel  |

luke had my haynes manual by mistake , even though he had one , i asked for it back funny enough a brand new one came back.... and my old dirty one is at his... he only gave me his becasue hed never used his.... prob to make himself look like he does all the work |

apperently my mini was blowing bloue smoke from underneath on the way to bristol so the cause could be that theres oil leaking on to soemthing hot , i bought rocker cover nut seals thingys , and a new rocket gasket ... its strange that the temp gauge isnt goign up also when ive just changed the temp sender for a new one when replacing the rad and water pump
i managed to cover the lower rail tonight ... badly , but itll do for now so im hoping to get that in asap .
can anyone give advice about what the blue smoke could be?
jcs given soem good advice already i just ened to think of anything possible because im headin to st davids on the weekend for the week and i need the car good n well
