DogsB took a fancy to the servo! Be greedy of me to keep it I dont understand them, they are huge and look ugly.... On the plus side though, they make your brakes feel nicer... Three cons, one pro

I've been in work until about 4. Got changed and went to help my dad (who had been doing it all day)
It's now all plumbed in (petrol and water) had to wrestle with the top hose though, didnt realise 1275 ones were different to 998 ones so lostca while over that.. The speedo cable was a nightmare apparently luckily he remembered we had a brand new one here.
The deflex subby floor mounts wouldn't get anywhere near mounting so dad fitted the brand new normal sort we have here. Plus other bits and pieces im not aware of probably.
Battery cable still needs clipping in and... Ive no idea what else.. Oh, fill it with oil/water, fix my megajolt, fit exhaust to manifold, fit gearstick, adjust clutch throw and a few other wires and silly things I guess.

It's alliiiivvvee! Loaded the new map on it. Started changing the rear brakes and i had a dead wheel cylinder so that's left to be done. Also going to swap rear shocks out (because they were knackered as well..) then try and sort the fueling, stop my rocker cover leaking, change oil and silly little things...
;D

It was quoted as being a Aldon Yellow map: I noticed it went a lot nicer (no air filter).... then we set the tappets and it seems to misfire/bog down (with airfilter) but once its warmed up its fine? *shrug* maybe fueling/mixture? Also after the tappets change the rocker cover gasket now pumps oil out of it when up to temperature... (new gasket...before anyone says anything..)

What type of air filter are you using coedy e.g standard or K&N type. If the engine seems to run better with no air filter fitted, it may be your mixture is a little weak. Probably best to leave it like that till after the MOT tho !!! ;D What type of rocker cover as well ?? Did you seal the rocker cover gasket to the rocker cover jd

Im using a K&N element in the standard drilled housing (vizards style ) We have messed about with it a bit and seems a lot happier now. havnt taken it for a drive yet though! My alloy rocker cover refuses to seat properly on the new gasket so back to the old pooey one for now...(new gasket is fine with that one!)

When I change the rocker cover gasket on mine I use Hermatite gasket sealent to "glue" the cork gasket to the edge of the alloy rocker cover, then let the sealant go off for 24 hrs before fitting it to the engine, that way the cork gasket doesnt move from under the alloy rocker cover and gives a good oil seal. Dont overtighten the 2 bolts/T bars on the rocker cover either, just do them up tight enough to make the gasket seal and no more. You may need to use a "richer" profile needle in the SU as a K&N element allows more air into the engine than the standard paper type. I did that with the twin SU's on the MGB after fitting K&N's and I only need choke to start the engine then push it in straight away. jd

Right I'll try explain ...
Removing the filter makes it better? it means that once removed then its allowing more air in which is leaning out the mixture.
Sooo that means its running rich Sooo you need to weaken the mixture.

He's gone shooting people today with high tower & lomu for high towers birthday Gwyn was up there this morning & changed track rod ends, rear shock absorbers & a couple of other bits & bobs. But he's found a hole on the boot that needs welding. But it is back on its own 4 wheels! There's only the quik shift & some cosmetics left ...other than the welding & hopefully everything will be done!! ;D
